Twelve Sketches on the Table, One Wall to Find

February 2021 at the Dada Kaffee in Zurich – twelve sketches for the "Open Again" mural, a wall hunt in Zürich West and an "Almost There" sticker run.

Dada Kaffee, Zurich – 17 February 2021, 18:45. Grey Wednesday, grey sky, but our table looked like a rainbow exploded on it. Twelve sketches, four sketchbooks, one very small plate of cheese-free bites.

The sketch parade Everybody kept the promise from January. Three sketches each. Mine had the doorway cat, of course, plus one with a cat kicking a door open like a drummer hitting the last beat of an AC/DC song. SinDee brought the cracking ice sky. PoshX drew hands – lots of hands – painting the same wall. DeeNice, who "doesn't really paint", brought three neat little pencil drawings that were annoyingly good.

We didn't choose one. We chose a mix: doorway, sky, hands. DeeNice drew a quick plan in her notebook and circled it.

Wall hunting Now we need a wall. I said I met someone you should know – a cat who looks after an old workshop building in Zürich West. The back wall is long, flat and very empty. He said "maybe". Maybe is a good start. DeeNice will write to him properly this week.

Almost There Until then, stickers. We decided on a new little run called Almost There – the sequel to "Stay home, stay wild". Small, round, a cat peeking around a corner. SinDee is cutting the stencils, PoshX takes the late-shift route home, I take the long walk along the Limmat.

"Maybe is just yes wearing a coat." – Kinky
