Sketchbook Evenings on Screen, Coffee in Our Own Mugs

Dada Kaffee (by video call), Zurich – 18 November 2020, 20:00. Back to the four little squares. We knew it might happen, and it did. Kinky used a photo of the Dada Kaffee as her background. It helped.

The postcards are working

The first postcards have arrived. SinDee sent me a heron standing on one leg, with "patience" written underneath. Thank you, SinDee. PoshX sent Kinky a tiny opera cat singing to a pot plant. Kinky sent SinDee a goat with an electric guitar. SinDee has put it on her fridge, which is the highest honour she gives.

The kids at the community centre got their cards from Kinky too. Mira says they now want to send cards back. So Kinky will soon have the biggest postcard collection in Zurich.

Sketchbook evenings

In winter we used to have sketchbook evenings at our table. Long nights, warm drinks, everybody drawing quietly next to each other. We missed them.

Decision: every Wednesday from now until the end of winter, an hour of sketchbook evening by video. Cameras on the paper, not on our faces. No talking required. Music allowed, one person chooses each week. Kinky got the first week. We know what that means.

PoshX will join when her shifts allow. When she cannot, we will leave a square open for her, like a chair at the table.

Keeping one eye forward

I added a quiet page in the notebook for our next big wall. No wall yet, no sketch yet. Just a feeling. Something about doors, and opening them again.
