Dada Kaffee (terrace), Zurich – 19 August 2020, 20:00. Hot evening, cold lemonade, vegetarian sandwiches. I asked about the vegetarian part first, as always. The waiter just said "yes, Kinky" before I finished the question.
Chalk in the park
Last Saturday we tried our first kids' session since the winter. Outside, in a park in Wiedikon, small group, lots of space. No paint this time. Just chalk on the path.
It was the best. One kitten drew a cat the size of a bus. Another drew a whole family of hedgehogs with sunglasses. PoshX taught them how to draw faces that look happy, sad and surprised. SinDee showed them how to draw a bird in three lines. I showed them how to draw letters. A tiny girl drew a K that looked exactly like a garden chair. I have never felt so understood.
The rain washed it all away on Monday. That's okay. Chalk is supposed to be temporary.
Stickers, gently
Plan: a small sticker run in Wiedikon at the end of August. Just DeeNice and me, early morning, quiet streets. We use the "Stay home, stay wild" stickers that have been sitting in a drawer since April. Only on spots where stickers are welcome. New line under the cat, though: "Stay careful, stay wild."
And: another chalk session in September if the weather is good. PoshX wants to bring friends from work.
One sad note: the warehouse in Zürich West is being rebuilt, so our big spring wall is gone. DeeNice says walls come and go, ideas stay. I'm keeping the letters warm in my sketchbook anyway.
