Test Patch, Colour List and a Ladder Called Bernhard

March meeting at the Dada Kaffee in Zurich: the crew tests paint in Zürich West, finalises the Seventeen colour list and decides who stands on the ladder.

Dada Kaffee, Zurich – 15 March 2018, 21:00.

Late again, sorry. Early shift, then a run along the Limmat to clear my head, then here. The others had already started without me, which is exactly what they should do.

The test patch

Last Sunday we painted a small square in the corner of the Zürich West wall. The old surface drank the first layer like a thirsty cat, so we need a primer first. Good to know now and not in April. The owner came out, looked at the square and said, "That's it?" We explained it was a test. He seemed relieved and a little disappointed at the same time.

Colours and roles

My colour list is final: deep blues, a warm orange for the sky, pink for the outlines because SinDee would leave the crew otherwise, and a black only for the clock. Roles for Seventeen: I take the sky, SinDee the lake and outlines, Kinky the climbing cats on the first weekend, and DeeNice the clock and the final call. We also bought a second-hand ladder. Kinky named it Bernhard. Nobody knows why.

Before Kinky leaves

Kinky flies to New York just after the first weekend, so her cats must be finished by then. She will draw the rest of her part in her sketchbook and we will fill it in. Teamwork, long distance.

Teamwork is a source of inspiration in its own right. – PoshX
