Dada Kaffee, Zurich – 20 February 2018, 19:45.

I came in with snow on my pink beanie and a grin I could not hide. The others knew before I sat down. DeeNice simply opened the notebook and waited.

We have a wall

Kinky and I walked Zürich West for three weekends. Most owners said no or "maybe next year". Then we found a long grey wall behind a workshop. The owner listened, looked at our sketches, asked if we would clean up, and said yes. He even offered us an outdoor tap for the brushes. I told him straight away what we would paint and how long it would take. No surprises. That is how I like it.

The plan

We fixed it: Seventeen will be painted over two weekends in April, as soon as nights stay above freezing. PoshX will check her rota and swap shifts where she can. The colour list is done. DeeNice wants a test patch first, a small square in the corner, to see how the paint behaves on that old surface.

New York

Kinky confirmed her trip. She flies to New York in April to see her family, all eight of them, and visit the Bronx yards where she painted her first trains. That means she will miss the second painting weekend. She promised to send sketches every day. She also promised to bring back vegetarian bagels. We will believe the second part when we see it.
