The Great December Sticker Swap at the Back Table

Snow outside, steam on the windows, four cats around a table that is slightly too small for four sketchbooks. A good way to end our first year, even if that year only lasted five months.

The swap

Everyone brought a new sticker, wrapped in paper. Kinky drew a cat with a tiny AC/DC lightning bolt, which surprised nobody. SinDee made a pine tree with a pink scarf. PoshX painted a little magic flute with whiskers, a nod to her favourite opera. I finally used my black square with "17:17" in it. This time it won applause instead of sugar cubes. Patience pays.

Looking back

I read the year aloud from the notebook. July: founding. August: rules. September: KC Hello in Kreis 5. October: first sticker run. November: Thursday sketchbook evenings. It does not sound like much, but every line has a wall, a walk or a story behind it.

The spring idea

Then the real business. We want a big mural in spring, much bigger than KC Hello. SinDee suggested the name "Seventeen", for the year we started and for our founding minute. Everyone loved it. Until January, each of us collects ideas in their sketchbook. In the new year we choose a direction and start looking for a wall large enough for four cats and a ladder.
