Teenagers, a Practice Board and Zero Fear of Spray

Dada Kaffee, Zurich – 13 September 2023, 20:00. I walked in humming Highway to Hell. PoshX looked up and said "no". The evening had begun.

The practice board

Saturday was the session for teenagers. Big wooden boards, an outdoor space where the owner said yes, masks, gloves and a rule: one can at a time, no rush. They were not afraid of the spray. They were afraid of the first line. Same as everyone. Same as me in the Bronx, a long time ago.

So I showed them my old K. The garden chair. They laughed, then they painted. By the afternoon one board said "KREIS 5" in letters that looked better than anything I did at their age. I told them. They pretended not to care. They cared.

Someone you should know

I met a woman at the session who runs drawing afternoons for older neighbours in Oerlikon. I told the crew she is someone we should know. DeeNice wrote her down. SinDee wants to bring her blues. Maybe a joint session in winter.

Autumn stickers

New plan for October: a small sticker run with the garden chair and a new autumn version, orange leaves stuck in the chair. Only on spots where stickers are welcome. SinDee leaves for a trip at the end of the month, so we go before she flies.
