Dada Kaffee (by video call), Zurich – 14 April 2020, 19:00. Second video meeting. I made popcorn so it would feel like a café. It didn't. But the popcorn was good.
Window show
First thing: everyone held their laptop up to their window. Show and tell, crew style.
SinDee painted a flock of birds flying across her glass. PoshX painted a sun with a tiny nurse cap, which made us all go quiet for a second. DeeNice painted one small cat holding a notebook, of course. Mine is a big orange cat winking at the street with a guitar. A kid downstairs waves at it every morning. Best audience I've ever had.
Neighbours have started painting their windows too. I'm not saying we started it. I'm just saying the dates line up.
Stay home, stay wild
Okay, so I had a thing in my sketchbook for weeks. A little cat in pyjamas on a sofa, but with wild eyes and a spray can hidden behind a cushion. Under it: "Stay home, stay wild."
The crew loved it. DeeNice wrote it in the notebook in capital letters, which almost never happens.
Plan: we print a small batch of "Stay home, stay wild" stickers and put them in the post with letters to friends and family, instead of putting them on walls right now. Everyone draws one variation: SinDee's cat is on a mountain sofa, PoshX's is in scrubs, DeeNice's is just reading.
Playlist for the call ended with AC/DC. On my laptop speakers. Nobody could stop me through a screen.
