The Warehouse Owner Says Yes to Our Zürich West Wall

Dada Kaffee, Zurich – 19 February 2020, 20:00. We moved the meeting from Tuesday to Wednesday for PoshX's shifts. I did not mind. I had just come back from a long walk in the snow above the lake and my head was still full of birds.

The wall

DeeNice spoke to the warehouse owner in Zürich West. He said yes. Big yes. A long, wide wall facing a small square where people sit in summer. He only asked us to keep it cheerful and to leave the loading door free. We can do both.

DeeNice put the photo on the table and nobody spoke for a moment. It is the biggest wall we have ever had.

The sketches

Kinky brought her letters. Bold, round, bouncing. PoshX brought four characters dancing between the letters, one for each of us. I brought birds. Small ones, flying through the gaps, from one end of the wall to the other, like they are passing through the city on the way somewhere better.

We laid everything on top of each other and moved the paper around until it worked. The waiter brought more tea without asking.

Decisions

The plan: paint the Zürich West wall in mid-April, over three days. In March we buy colours and test the big letters on boards. Kinky will ask friends from other crews about the summer jam afterwards.

I am a little worried about all the news from other countries about this new illness. DeeNice says we watch, we stay careful, we decide in March. I agree. Calm first.
