Seven Years Old and Standing in Front of a Skyline

KC is seven years old today. I brought a vegetarian cake shaped like a garden chair. It collapsed when we cut it. Everybody said it was the most authentic thing I have ever made.

The Skyline, one month later

The Klitty Skyline has been finished for a month now and it still surprises us. Our biggest wall so far. People sit in front of it at lunch. Someone left a drawing of a cat on the bridge, tucked behind a pipe, and we did not take it away.

And people are looking for the garden chair on the rooftop. A kid found it in under a minute. A grown-up took twenty. DeeNice keeps a tally in the notebook. She will not show us.

My idea

Then DeeNice asked me what's next. I said something I had been thinking about for years. All those sketchbooks, from the Bronx to Lisbon to the scaffold in Zürich West. What if, for one evening, people could look at them?

A sketchbook evening exhibition. Not a gallery, not on walls, just tables, pages and people turning them. Autumn, here in Zurich, with music and snacks. The crew said yes before I finished. SinDee offered her Siberia pages. PoshX offered to light it. DeeNice opened a new page and wrote: "Kinky – exhibition – October."

Then she underlined October twice. That means it is real.
