One Year of Klitty Crew, Counted in Walls and Stickers

Exactly one year after founding, the crew meets at the Dada Kaffee in Zurich to celebrate, review the summer street jam and decide on a kids' workshop.

Dada Kaffee, Zurich – 17 July 2018, 18:17.

One year ago today, at 17:17, we founded the crew. We could not all make 17:17 this time because of PoshX's shift, so we chose 18:17. One hour late, but the minutes were right.

The jam

First, the street jam. It was a long, hot Saturday in Kreis 4. Seven painters plus the four of us, one long wall, one pink and blue band connecting every section. Neighbours brought chairs and lemonade. A few children stood at the fence the whole afternoon, drawing on cardboard with our leftover markers. Nobody acted like a star. SinDee checked. We cleaned up until midnight, and the owner says we can come back next year.

A year in one page

I read the list again: KC Hello, the first sticker run, sketchbook evenings, the December swap, Seventeen, New York, the street jam. Kinky wanted to add "my K got better". The others voted against it. It stays in the notes as a dissenting opinion.

The next idea

Those children at the fence stayed in our heads. PoshX said it first: we should do a proper drawing workshop for kids. Small group, simple materials, cats and letters. Kinky knows a neighbourhood youth club leader she says we should meet. We agreed: first kids' workshop in September. PoshX and Kinky will plan it, SinDee will handle the materials, and I will keep the notebook, as always.
