Lisbon Lands on the Table Between Two Coffees

Dada Kaffee, Zurich – 19 April 2023, 20:00. Spring finally arrived, so naturally we sat inside anyway, at the table in the back where we always sit.

Stickers in hand

The garden-chair stickers came back from the printer. Kinky opened the box like it was a birthday present and then pretended not to care. Each of us took a stack. They are already on two sketchbooks, one guitar case and, I suspect, PoshX's locker at work.

The big sheet

PoshX led Saturday's workshop. One long roll of paper on the floor, twenty paws, one picture. Nobody owned a corner, everybody owned the whole thing. She calls teamwork a source of inspiration in its own right. After that afternoon, nobody at the table disagreed.

Lisbon

Then Kinky said the word. Lisbon. She has met someone there "we should know", naturally. Tiles, light, steep streets, walls that look like they were waiting for colour.

We decided: Lisbon in June, one week, sketchbooks only, no cans unless an owner says yes. SinDee pays her own way as always and is already counting mural days. PoshX swaps two shifts. I booked nothing yet but wrote three pages of questions.

The workshop series keeps going in May with a session for younger kids. We will not travel without finishing that.
