Five Tails for Five Years – The "Five Lives" Sticker

Dada Kaffee, Zurich – 24 March 2022, 21:15. Late again – my shift ended at nine, and I ran. The others had saved me a seat and the last vegetable pie. That is what love looks like in this crew.

Five Lives I brought the sticker design from February's list: one cat sitting proudly, five tails curling out behind her, each tail in a different colour – one for each year. 2017 in pink like Kinky's claws, 2018 in red, 2019 in "Baikal Blue", 2020 in hospital green, a little nod to the nurses' wall, 2021 in "Open Again" gold.

Kinky wanted the tails to wave more. SinDee wanted the cat to look less pleased with herself. DeeNice said: "She's five. She's allowed to be pleased." Approved. We print the "Five Lives" stickers in June, ready for 17 July.

The memory walk Then we took a city map and marked every wall we ever painted, legal and still standing. "KC Hello" in Kreis 5, the autumn wall in Wiedikon from 2018, the kids' wall, "Open Again" in Zürich West. Kinky drew a route between them with a pink pen. On the anniversary afternoon we walk it together and arrive here just in time for 17:17.

Stockholm check Eight weeks to go. Days off: approved. Bridge design: finished. SinDee's train route: printed and laminated, because she trusts paper more than phones.
