Dada Kaffee, Zurich – 19 March 2019, 20:00. Our sketchbooks covered the whole table, so the coffee had to sit on the windowsill. The waiter just smiled. He knows us by now.
What Berlin did to us
Okay, I'll say it: PoshX was right. We walked so much my paws are still complaining, but every corner had something. Huge walls, tiny tags, colours stacked on colours. PoshX knew every courtyard and told a story for each one. SinDee spent an hour just staring at one faded piece by the river and didn't say a word. That's her version of a rave review.
We each drew one wall per day, like we promised. DeeNice laid all sixteen drawings out in a grid. Funny thing: you can tell who drew what from across the room. Mine have too many letters. PoshX's have perfect characters. SinDee's are mostly sky.
Somebody found my old "garden chair K" sketch tucked in the back and held it up. Thanks, crew. Very supportive.
From Berlin to Zurich
Decision: a spring sticker run with little Berlin-inspired characters, one design from each of us, starting in Kreis 5 next month. I'm drawing a cat on a bicycle. PoshX is doing a tiny opera singer, because of course.
And SinDee finally said it out loud. That blue she keeps talking about? She wants to paint it. Big. DeeNice wrote "Baikal" in the notebook and drew a box around it.
I know that box. That box means it's happening.
