Dada Kaffee, Zurich – 15 November 2022, 19:00. We needed two tables tonight. The waiter pushed them together without being asked. He knows us.

The archive begins As decided in October, everyone brought every sketchbook since 2017. Kinky brought eleven, all bent, all full. SinDee brought five, each with pressed leaves inside. PoshX brought three neat ones and one "chaos book" from night shifts. I brought my black notebooks and two small drawing pads nobody knew existed.

We went through 2017 first. The plans for "KC Hello", the first sticker run, the December swap.

There it was Page four of Kinky's first Zurich sketchbook. A big, proud, wobbly K. Legs everywhere. A seat where no seat should be. A garden chair, folding itself into a letter.

Silence. Then PoshX laughed so hard she had to put her glasses on the table. SinDee took a photo. Kinky held the page up like a trophy and said: "This is art history."

I wrote it in the notebook: the garden-chair K deserves its own sticker one day. Not yet. But one day.

The plan for winter We keep going: one year of sketchbooks per meeting or sketchbook evening, until spring. Sticky notes on the best pages. A list of ideas we never painted. Some of them, I suspect, are still good.

Kinky asked for vegetarian snacks for the whole archive project. Approved, unanimously.

"Every crew has a past. Ours just happens to look like furniture." – DeeNice
