Dada Kaffee, Zurich – 17 July 2019, 19:17. Two years ago, at 17:17, four cats sat at this table and decided to become a crew. Tonight we were two hours late for our own birthday because PoshX had a shift. Nobody minded. The cake waited too.
What two years look like
I flipped back through the notebook. "KC Hello" in Kreis 5. "Seventeen". The Wiedikon wall. Berlin. "Baikal Blue". Pages of sticker plans, half of them crossed out, the other half done. And one very old sketch of a K that looks like a broken garden chair. Kinky asked me to tear that page out. I declined.
The Limmat sticker run happened last weekend. The little blue lake stickers went fast. Kinky claims she saw a duck admiring one. I did not see the duck.
Where next
We had promised ourselves one more trip this year. Kinky had been dropping hints for weeks, mostly the word "Barcelona" said loudly and often. She knows painters there. She knows everyone everywhere.
PoshX wants to see the light by the sea. SinDee wants to walk up a hill and look down at the city. I want four cats on one train without losing a sketchbook.
Decision: the Klitty Crew goes to Barcelona in October. Kinky plans contacts and walls, PoshX checks her roster, SinDee finds the hills. In September we sort out the details, and the playlist, which will take longer.
Then we ate the cake. Vegetarian, of course. Kinky checked.
