Back at the Globo – The Zulu Lettre Goes Bold

A second Globo exhibition in Paris: the Klitty Crew studies the new Zulu Lettre issues by Candy – bolder colours, bigger letters and a page that stops Kinky.

Paris – 26 April 2025, 22:50. The Globo again. Same wall, new paper, and this time I brought sunglasses because Kinky said the new issues were "loud".

New issues, new colours

A year after our first visit, the Globo shows the next issues of Candy's Zulu Lettre. The cut-and-paste spirit is still there, but the new pages are bolder: full-page letters, colour photos of fresh walls next to old black-and-white ones, and long rows of small sketches from writers in different cities, side by side like a family photo.

One page stopped Kinky completely: a single letter, drawn huge, nothing else. She stood in front of it for ten minutes and then said, "That's brave." Coming from Kinky, that's a medal.

What we took home

For me it was the captions. Every picture tells you where, when and who – and nothing more. No bragging, no noise. Just respect for the work. I want our zine to sound like that.

Our own zine, by the way, exists now: one issue, four pages, fifty copies. We left one at the Globo, on a table, very quietly. DeeNice said it doesn't count unless nobody sees us do it.

Freedom on paper still needs a good caption. – SinDee
