Dada Kaffee, Zurich – 10 April 2025, 19:00. Paint still under my nails, Bowie in my headphones on the way over. The others had already ordered me a bowl of muesli – they know my shift-week appetite.
The wall is done Two weekends, one rainy Sunday, a lot of tea. "Paws Up" is finished. The sky turned out exactly the way I hoped – that soft Turner gold, sliding into a cloudy grey. Kinky's outlines are bolder than ever, and SinDee's blue line at the bottom catches the light in the afternoon.
The best moment: a little kitten from the courtyard asked which cat was hers. We told her the one at the top. She is reaching the highest, after all.
Where next? DeeNice opened the notebook at a page that said "2019 – Barcelona". Six years later, we want to go back. The light there, the long evenings, the friends we made on that first trip.
Decision: Barcelona in September, one week, sketchbooks and stickers in the luggage. SinDee pays her own way as always and is already looking for a cheap night train. Kinky has "someone we should know" there, of course. Everybody does, apparently.
Small business The first portrait stickers are drawn. Mine has my round glasses and a tiny red heel in the corner. I approve.
