Five Years of Klitty Crew – Together at 17:17

Dada Kaffee, Zurich – 17 July 2022, 17:17. Five years ago, at this minute, four cats sat at this table and decided to paint the city together. Today the same four cats sat down again, a little dusty from the walk, and nobody said anything for a whole minute.

The memory walk We started after lunch at "KC Hello" in Kreis 5, still there, a bit faded, still smiling. Then Wiedikon, the kids' wall, and finally "Open Again" in Zürich West, where the owner came out with lemonade again. Friends and the painters who once asked to join walked with us, and a "Five Lives" sticker went up wherever we had permission. Kinky stopped at an old spot where her first K once was. Yes, the garden chair. We saluted it.

The portraits Back here, we painted each other on one board. PoshX painted SinDee with her beanie glowing like a lantern. SinDee painted Kinky mid-wink. Kinky painted me – the first portrait of DeeNice ever. A grey cat holding a black notebook, looking like she knows something. Accurate.

The seventeenth song The playlist ran through sixteen songs. Then I unfolded my slip of paper. The seventeenth was "Heroes" by Bowie. PoshX cried. Kinky said, "Fine. Good choice. Next year AC/DC." Everyone laughed.

Then one decision, written on a fresh page: we stay four, we keep painting, and every year on 17 July at 17:17, we are here. Everything else can change.
