A Notebook Page Called "Merch?"

Dada Kaffee, Zurich – 16 January 2025, 19:30. Snow on the windows, steam on the glasses, and our table in the back already covered in sketchbooks before the first coffee arrived.

Winter mode January is sketch season. Nobody paints walls when the paint freezes in the can, so we draw. Kinky filled six pages before her vegetarian toastie had cooled down. SinDee drew a fox she met on a walk above the Limmat. PoshX arrived late from an early shift and drew nothing at all – she just ate, which is also a form of art.

We agreed to keep the winter sketch evenings going every second week until March. Same table, same mess.

One small word Then I did something I rarely do. I opened a fresh page in the black notebook and wrote a single word at the top: Merch?

Silence. Then everybody talked at once. Stickers, said Kinky. Shirts, said PoshX. Nothing cheap, said SinDee – if it carries our name, it has to be good enough to wear on a mountain.

So here is the plan: no rush. Every member brings three ideas for things people could carry around with a bit of Klitty Crew on them. We look at them in February. The question mark stays on the page until we earn the right to remove it.
