The year, in four lines
I read them out. January: a napkin map of walls. May: a schoolyard in Oerlikon with twenty-two brushes and a pizza with wings. June: the Klitty Skyline, our biggest wall so far, painted together in Zürich West. October: Kinky's sketchbook evening, thirty books and one glass bowl.
Then the small things. The neighbours' afternoons. The winter sticker run last week, cold paws and full pockets, every Skyline sticker gone by the second bridge.
The swap
Our December swap, as every year. SinDee brought a sticker of the live wall. PoshX brought a bridge with four cats in four colours. Kinky brought the garden chair with a tiny Christmas hat. I brought a single blank sticker. "For next year," I said. Nobody understood. That was the point.
For 2025
Last month I wrote a question I did not underline. Tonight I read it again. People keep asking for our stickers. People keep asking where they can find us.
We decided only this: in January we talk about it. Properly. With coffee. Maybe designs, maybe more. And Kinky wants to see Barcelona again. SinDee already said she pays her own way. PoshX checks her shift plan.
